how transfer picture for the internal storage of a phone that won't turn on

My Sony X has developed a fault and won't charge. My insurance is replacing it but I have lots of photos on the internal storage and I don't think that they have backed up. Is there any way of getting the photos? Its shows that it is connecting when plugged in but it won't turn on. TIA

If it won't turn on I know of no way to get the photos and other personal info off of it. 🙁
