So, I bought the 1365dx about a year ago (refurbished to save a good $100) and the fans never seemed to run as fast as they should...they ran but never seemed to kick "into high gear" when things started getting warm. So I currently have a cooling fan, but it still doesn't get the job done. I'm idling right now at around 110 degrees Fahrenheit. (HD is 100 degrees) when I start gaming it kicks up to at least 145-160 afterwards more than likely blue screening... I've already blown the fan out a few times and nothing has fixed it. About 2 months ago Windows 7 told me the fan stopped working, but it went away later that day..so I'm almost thinking the fan may be bad and that might be the issue. Is there a way I can run a hardware test to see if it is going bad? I'm hoping to just buy a desktop PC in a few months and just use it for gaming..but for the time being I'd like to get this laptop fixed up and stop the overheating.

Well if those are normal temps than there must be something else that's causing me to blue screen while I play games..:(

Bsods will point to a file and also give a code. If you have auto restart upon crash you can go to the reliability center (start and type reliability, it should show up) click the date, right click the bsod and click view technical details. Tell me the bccode.

Alright, tried it with multiple methods (USB, CD, and even tried a DVD) its refusing to boot off of any of them. I can here the drive spin then it just boots like normal. I know I'm doing it right as I altered the boot order to run the USB first (no luck) and then the CD drive first (no luck) any ideas? Bios version is Insyde F.53..it has a built in memory test in the Diagnostics tab, not sure if it'd be the same though

There was boot from usb key/drive and boot from usb CD drive. and that memory test in the bios said everything was fine...though I have a feeling its certainly not all fine.. haha

Okay, just had my first bluescreen since the memory check. This time bccode is C2. Got a pic of the bluescreen as well.

On a side note...I'm starting to think this thread should be called frequent blue screens :p

That program says ntoskrnl.exe (for the bluescreen that was related to memory.) and this bluescreen was caused by win32k.sys

I bought a new ram stick from newegg around the time the bluescreens started...do you think its possible it was a faulty card? Or should I try swapping the two sticks locations and see if it continues?
