Hi,
My laptop has the Core i3-3110M with 4 cores .
Here are a photo from device manager and from back of laptop.
Who is the best processor to upgrade this laptop?

there is 2 types of that cpu, 1 is soldered to the mptherboard (FCBGA1023) & the other fits into a socket (FCPGA988) so would have to find out which of the 2 you have.

both your corrent cpu & the ebay cpu are dual cores not quad cores.

the thing to consider is that can your bios handle an i5 or higher cpu? is there a version of your laptop that has a higher more powerful cpu in it?

Thank you for your understanding - bad English - and for patience.
I was wrong, the processor has 2 cores and 4 threads.
Answers given me by the Forum of HP:

"Pretty limited processor selection so the only upgrade for you would be this:
Intel i5-3230M processor (2.6-GHz, 3-MB cache, 35 W)"
and
"They all should have 2 cores. Just so happens I bought one of those processors to upgrade a Thinkpad I own
not too long ago (successfully). It is actually the computer I am using to type this.
Just be careful buying a processor on eBay. Only buy from sellers with high reputation numbers".

Just like to seek a second opinion before I make the purchase....

check the hp site for info on your laptop as to what cpu you can upgrade to if even possible because the bios will have to be updated to handle the new cpu.
