HP laptop 3yrs old heating up quickly

Hi,

I have got HP pavilion series laptop which is 3yrs old. My main problem is it is getting too hot quickly and fans making noice which lead to less battery life. I use to have battery life of around 4.30hrs now it hardly goes upto 2hrs when I am using laptop. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

you will need to open the laptop and blow the dust off. if the fan is doing sounds when spinning you might have to buy a replacement. Make sure to reapply thermal paste (if you are not sure what you are doing google for a video guide (usually all laptop cleaning have a video guide)

As for battery life - that old laptop is normal to have a bit reduced battery life than when it was brand new. However you can change your power plan from control panel, disable unwanted/unneeded background programs
