HP laptop won't turn on, orange light by power port is off

I have an HP envy laptop that won't turn on. I tried changing the battery with a charged one and still nothing. But I noticed that the orange led indicator next to the charging port is off when plugged in. Does anybody know if it's the charging port is bad, or is there a workaround to get this thing going.
Any help is MUCH appreciated!

disconnect the power adapter from laptop. remove battery from laptop. hold the power button down for 30 count. re-connect power adapter to laptop. re-install battery into laptop. turn laptop on.
