HP Pavilion dv5-1235dx - No Display on LCD

Tested with several reboots, hard boot and power bleed, NO DISPLAY. Tested with external display, output shows on both HDMI and VGA connections. The LCD display cable is in good condition, no pinches, cuts or tears. Firmly held in place. I though maybe the LCD was bad, so I bought a new one. Still no display. The screen lights up, but shows nothing on it.

It is possible the attached display and the external are running on different graphics. If that is the case, then one could be bad and need replacing while the other is fine. You may want to have that tested.

Also, just because a cable doesn't look damaged doesn't mean it isn't the problem. Did you try disconnecting it at both ends? I would try that and also try replacing it. It is cheaper than the other parts.

Tried a different cable, no joy. Did not think about multiple display adapters. Will try that as a last ditch effort I guess.
