HP Pavilion g6-2231tu Notebook Good or Bad?

I'm looking into getting laptop after deciding not to get a desktop(I move around a lot)
I was looking at getting the HP Pavilion g6-2231tu Notebook.

In terms of use what I'd like (but can compromise on some) is to use it for Uni so general use internet etc but on top of that design programs such as photoshop, indesign as well as a bit of gaming- online and pre 2010 games that I've got

I've heard that with this laptop its fairly easy to add more ram, would this help?

I'm able to get one brand new off a friend for around $400
is it worth it or is there another laptop out there with better specs for around the same price

this HP Pavilion is not bad for price. Watch around some Toshiba satelite series. They have mid price laptops with goot parts
If you don't want to watch again for laptop this HP is good enough for you
