HP Pavilion G6 2277et Cpu Upgrade ? ( Details inside )

Hello people i want to upgrade my laptop cpu , my laptop model is hp pavilion g6 2277et
i've updated the bios , chipset is hm76 , max tdp my laptop can handle is 35 . mobo manufacturer is hp obviously and mobo model is 183E and socket is G2 .
I have intel core i5 3210m right now it has 2 cores , 4 threads . Thank you for reading and answering this .

If you match the socket to the CPU, then the only other variable should be the BIOS. Even updated, HP may have their firmware not support select CPUs. There's a fair chance a lot of people reading this won't know/won't have that information, so this may be a matter of trial and error.

The mobile CPUs here - only the ones ending in "M" or "QM" - are at least compatible with your socket, I believe: https/ark.intel.com/products/codename/29902/Ivy-Bridge#@mobile

why you need to upgrade cpu? Is your integrated gpu getting bottlenecked by i5?

If you go over 35w tdp then your heatsink might not be able to handle it, ive gone from 35 to 45w and had to use cooling pad and liquid metal to get it cool. Just like prostar said its a gamble. You could find more info on this issue if you disassembly your laptop and check motherboard model number.

The Extreme series is possible, but they run much hotter; buyer beware.
