HP Pavilion g7 noisy fan rattle

i noticed when i origionally disassembled the labtop that there was a layer of adhesive connecting the fan securely to the motherboard. after removing it the adhesive no longer provides a snug grip. i think this has something todo with the rattle, not the fan itself since the fan was running just fine before disassembly. any good ideas for a replacement adhesive?
