Hp pavilion laptop startup repair

Hello,
My laptop will not turn on...I press the power button, it lights up, but then goes off.....nothing else happens...

remove the battery then try to power cycle

Two simple steps that may help:

Unplug your laptop, remove the battery and then press the power button to fully discharge the laptop. Let it sit for a short time and then try again.

Try a different power cord.
