HP Pavilion N204-TX crashes when slight pressure applied to the touch pad

My laptop randomly started crashing since a few months..
Later i found out that it only crashes when applying slight pressure to the touch pad.
I think it would be a hardware problem, though any help would be appreciated!

Have you tried uninstalling the touchpad driver and reinstalling to see if it is resolved. I know a long shot but can't hurt to try. Driver issues can act up in the oddest of ways.

If that isn't it, you are probably going to have to open it up and see if it is putting pressure on something else or hitting something else when you use the touchpad that could cause it to react this way.
