Hello there!

I need help deciding which one to get, since the one I currently own is a 2010 Sony Vaio (a beast I might add!). I need it for everything basically, plus gaming (adventure games).

1TB 7200 rpm

no optical drive

899 euros

ASUS ROG Strix GL553VD-DM178T

i7-7700HQ 2.80GHz
12GB
1TB 7200 rpm
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4GB
15,6" FHD, Ultra slim, Anti-Glare (not sure about IPS)
Windows 10 Home 64bit

899 euros

Lenovo Legion Y520-15IKBN

i7-7700HQ 2.80GHz
8GB
1TB 5400 rpm & 128GB SSD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4GB

Thanks!!!

Lenovo gaming laptops have cooling issues. So that's outta the equation. The HP laptop is good but if it was me id choose a Omen gaming laptop. Get either a MSI GL62M 7RDX/7REX or a Acer Nitro AN15 with an i5-7300HQ, GTX 1050 4GB, 8GB RAM, a 128GB SSD and 1TB storage. Also the screen is FHD, 60Hz and it's enough for everything you wanna play, even PUBG.

Hmmm I know you're right, but the Asus comes with an RGB-backlit keyboard!!:love:
(+ an optical drive! :p).

Thanks for your answer!

Thank you all for your answers!
I didn't buy any of them! I thought it would be wiser to wait for 2-3 months for price drops so that I can get a better machine for the same amount of money!
Thanks again!

What cooling issues? Could you elaborate on this further? I had a Lenovo Y series for 5 years and never had a single issue with it.

I also own two Lenovo Thinkpad laptops, and neither has "cooling issues;" one has a R7 370 in it, although I don't play a lot of games on it. It is very hard to beat the durability of the Thinkpad line. Those are their business machines (although some have gaming cards), whereas the cheaper Ideapad are targeted to consumers. I rarely need an optical drive, but there are always external options.

Right now yes I do need portability.
Also there is a new offer in a store for an Omen laptop, one of those that you suggested.

i7 7700HQ
12 GB
256GB SSD + 1TB HDD
GTX 1050 4GB
17" FHD IPS
Windows 10 Home 64 bit
optical drive

999 euros!!!

^That's a nice-looking machine. If your need for portability includes long battery life, you might want a smaller screen, but then I don't know how good your eyes are (FHD on a 15" screen is getting difficult for me).

Wow, that is a bargain for that kind of laptop. My laptop has very similar specs and I paid $1500 for it.
