I wonder if i can solder the speaker cables in this monitor to the input port on the back. so i can plug a headset into the input and get the sound that originally was going to the speaker into my headset. i dont really want to use the shitty speaker thats built in.
dont know if i need extra hardware to convert an input to an output other than speaker cables.

Edit: im planning to use this only with a chromecast btw. so would be neat to get this working with a headset.

I would suggest you just bring the speaker wires out of the back of the monitor and solder a female 3.5mm plug onto them.

Any of the connectors already on the monitor will be mounted on a circuit board and won't have the four conductors you need.
Another option would be to use an HDMI audio extractor.

No need to mod the monitor.
