I bought this a while ago mostly to listen to stuff but recently I've been talking to my friends in TS3 and they can barely hear me. I already maxed my external mic volume control and everyone told me that I'm whispering when I'm almost shouting on my end. I tried tweaking the mic volume in control panel and found out that my mic level is set to 0.0 db and I'm unable to adjust it.

Is there anyway I can fix this? Or did the store gave me a defective product? No way to return it now since I bought this a while ago. I tried searching the net and I've seen people with similar issue but no one really had an answer how to fix this. Am I screwed?

Solution
uninstall your sound drivers. reinstall the newest sound drivers for your motherboard (or soundcard if you're using one) from the manufacturer's website. it could be a driver issue that is preventing you from adjusting the mic level.

also make sure you're using the microphone in not line-in jack. or if its a combination jack, make sure it is set to microphone.

check your ts3 microphone volume level http://www.gentsgame.com/images/optionsVoice.png to make sure it is not on low.

its likely software. if nothing you try in software works, you could always use a soundcard, usb or internal.

Unfortunately, this device does not run via your system's soundcard (which p***es me off, as I have a great SoundBlaster X-Fi built into my computer), it is plugged in via USB connector and has its own soundcard built into the controller.

The official website does neither provide any drivers for this device nor any software to adjust things manually.

I can't change the micrphone's volume level in Windows, either. Any ideas? :??:
