HyperX Cloud Mic not working properly. (Splitter)

It seems that the mic on my HyperX Cloud headset is not working anymore. I've been trying to use it with the splitter in my laptop (since it's only got 1 jack) but the only thing coming out of it is a constant buzz. I know it's not the 3.5 jack of the laptop since I've tested it with a pair of earphones I have and the mic there works just fine, so there's also no configuration problems.

So, is there a way I can fix the mic on my headset? How can I make sure the mic is the one malfunctioning and not the splitter/3.5 output?

By splitter, do you mean the headset adapter that come with them?
If so then that should work which leaves the possibility that yout laptop only had a headphone jack and not a combo.
Which exact laptop do you have?

Yes, the one to turn the mic and speaker into a single input. Also the laptop is an Asus X555D, and it has only 1 jack for both headphones and mic which works fine.
