I am getting a smell of burning from my Vaio Model number PCG-91111m

Everything appears to be working but I keep getting a smell of burning, suspect that its the fan overheating as the laptop appears to be very hot in that area, scared of taking the back off. Any help appreciated

If it is that hot, so much that you have a burning smell, then it is a risk of a fire hazard. So please be careful.

If you don't feel comfortable opening it up, I would then suggest taking it to a local tech or repair shop. Better to take care of the issue now, then leave it be and fry the computer, or worse.

Thanks yes I think its repair shop time, I have looked at several on line repair videos, I do not have the right tools or equipment to remove and clean or replace the fan

Yeah, it would be to risky to leave it be. I hope it gets all sorted.

It will be, just requested some repair prices from local repair shops, its just a matter of time.
