I am looking for a sturdy ,ultraportable- windows 8 laptop with or without touchscreen.

Coming to the windows world for the first time after my macbook finally died. Pretty daunting, I'm having a difficult time picking the right one. I need it to last a few years to come, so resolution, processing speed, hell every spec should be as high as possible, that matters to me more than any gimmicks. That said I want something thin and light enough to carry around. Willing to spend up to $2500. What would you recommend?
