i am trying to connect magnavox vcr/ dvd combo to sanyo tv

Your VCR/DVD probably uses the old NTSC TV system. I was able to just connect the RF output of mine to the RF input of my Sanyo TV. It then detects the old system and correctly plays it on channel 3.
