I fell my laptop and what do I do

I just fell my laptop its one of the Samsung Ultrabook Series. And I have searched through out the internet and did what they did. Then I backed up my files. Now I can hear a little weird grindling sound or scratching sound on the area where the internal drive is. I compared i to my sisters laptop (that wasnt broken) and I also heard the sound. You can only hear the sound when you place your ear to the area. What should I do? should I go directly to the service center? or what?

is it still under warranty? was the laptop on when you dropped it? is windows acting slow or weird?

its already not covered by the warranty. yeah it was on. The system is acting normal tho. thanks for replying BTW

BTW the fall can affect the laptop even more when it is on?

yes as it can damage or destroy a hard drive. had that happen to a customer & she lost all her data. do a scandisk to check for errors especially bad sectors that might now exist because of the fall. if bad sectors found then get a new hard drive.

How can I run a scandisk tho?

goto to my computer or windows explorer not internet explorer & right click on the c:drive. a menu popsup so left click on properties then the tools tab. click on check now for error checking & make certain both boxes have checkmarks in them. you'll have to restart the laptop so it can do it's scan that can take a couple of hours so just keep an eye on it. has to go thru 5 stages.

The scan is over and there is no erroe. Thank god. Thank you very much. BTW after the fall I saw a red and white static on the screen what was that?

yeah it was red and white combination static on the screen after I picked it up. And yesterday while im using it, theres a black static on the screen then I just long pressed the power button to turn it off. And then I turn it on, everything's normal tho. What am I experiencing?
