I have a 65 inch Mitsubishi DLP, my picture is dark, I have sound. Is this the lamp? Lamp indicator is not on.

Any ideal why I have a dark picture on my 65 inch Mitsubishi DLP TV? Could this be the lamp? Lamp indicator is not on. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Over time, DLP lamps go darker. You probably need a new one.

I too had the dark screen even after replacing my bulb on my 3 year old 82 inch WD-82740. I had cleaned the lens and mirror, blew all the dust from the back and adjusted the contrast and brightness and still had dark shadows on the screen. Finally, I took the remote, pressed menu, picture, reset and selected reset to return all settings back to factory settings and SHAZAMM...the stunning picture I have not seen for a long time came back in all it's splendor...dark shadows on the screen are gone...night scenes are much better and I am a happy camper again. I had something selected that was causing the darker screen...maybe in the 3D area...anyway it's bright again and I plan to keep this TV for many years.
