looking for a solution to the dark section of screen at the top of my 70 inch projection TV. Does anyone know of a solution to this issue?

Sounds like a bulb alignment thing. Where did the last lamp come from? Factory new, "rebuilt" or did you replace the lamp in the unit?

I actually just got this TV. from a family member. He said he's never replaced the bulb or had any repair work done. But I do know that when he moved the TV. he laid it down flat on some thick moving blankets. Only thing I have done to it is replace the dlp chip because of the white spots in the screen but the dark line was already there before I replaced the chip.

no the bulb hasn't been replaced just the dlp chip and that was because of white dots on the screen but the dark line was already there before i replaced the chip.
