I have a old Sylvania TV and I hooked up the DVD player but can't seem to find the channel it needs to be on to view movies

I have an old Sylvania TV I hooked up the DVD player but can't seem to figure out what channel it needs to be on for viewing

You would have hooked it up to either the SCART connection, or the AV input. You need to select the input from the source button. Will look like a circle with an arrow going into it. Or simply a button marked 'input'
The DVD signal will not appear on ordinary analogue channels.
