i have a samsung tv(not a smart one) i have connected an external vizio sound bar via a optical cable,set the spdif to pcm and all good.when i turn off my tv and then turn it back on the tv defaults back to dolby digital and i get no sound.so then i have to go back into sound settings of the tv and pick the pcm again. why wont it stay on pcm setting??

Did you contact Samsung for support? The TV should not just be resetting your options when it's turned off.
