have a toshiba star energy and it is stuck on hard drive recovery but the option to hit yes or no it says yes but no matter what key i hit it wont do anything and there is no f keys what do i need to do

Energy Star is not a model, it's just a sticker that states it meets energy star guidelines. Often this can be an issue with the hard drive failing if a recovery won't work. You would need to use a Windows disk to book from to try to fix this. How would depend on what version of Windows your system has.
