I have a Verizon tablet checking trying to see how I find out if the SIM card is valid

I have a Verizon tablet I'm trying to see if the SIM card is valid because I've locked myself out of it I've tried to reboot it and restarted it won't do it going through my Google account on the top of it it says no sim inserted the SIM card is in there how do I check the Verizon SIM card to see if it's valid
