I have an olympus camedia c-3000 zoom digital camera. I bought an 32MB smart media card for it. I keep getting card error. What can i do?

Do you have a smart media adapter for your PC? Oddly enough I have a smart card sitting on my desk. Brand new 8 meg Toshiba.

Try to find a new SmartMedia card. I have that same camera.
The cards die, just like any other media.

If it is a new card, try cleaning the contacts inside the camera.
Put a teeny bit of isopropyl alcohol on the card. Rapidly put it in and out of the camera a few times. This cleans the contacts inside.

It actually decided to work right after I posted this. I got the camera recently from my mom. She didn't know what happened to the instructions. It was my dad's he passed away in January. I have figures a few things out now that it has decided to work. Just need to figure out how to delete pictures I don't want. Thank you for your quick responses.

If anyone here has a use for that new (but small) Toshiba card, PM me a mailing address in Canada or the US and I drop it in the mail next week. Free of course, it's still in the wrapper.
