I have my computer connected to my tv with without any sound

OK so I have a dvi port on my computer and an hdmi port on my tv. I purchased a dvi/hdmi cable on amazon to be able to use my tv as my screen. But to my disappointment I do not have any sound on the tv, only my my computer speakers are working. I have tried to disabled and disconnected devices under control panel as well as right click volume icon. The only thing that shows up at all is my speakers. I am not really savvy on computers and am not sure how to solve this. any help would be greatly appreciated.

DVI does not supply sound, so there is no sound going to the TV.

Does your motherboard have a line out for sound?

I have mine connected to my TV via a DVI to HMDI Cable, but the Line Out for sound(from both computer and TV) is routed to my receiver.
