I have the mafia of a virus!

I have AVG, Advanced system care 7, and malwarebytes all running on my computer and for the most part it is not bad. I don't see vary many things pop up but right now I am having 2 issues. 1: There is a virus that keeps making new files. When Malwarebytes puts them in quarantine, It keeps trying to make new. It is making files named PUP.Optional. and then it adds something else. It has files named in a way that It looks like a browser add on but I can not find any add on that would have it and the browser that I am using is pretty secure (Maxthon). I figure that this entry is long enough. I will make a second entry for the second issue.

No thats the thing, its not just the PUP Optional that is the name, it is the names after it. this virus originally had around 60 files to its name and I obliterated it with malware bytes. This same virus was messing with every URL that I tried to send out. This thing took over every web browser and modified the outgoing URLs. The weird thing is that advanced system care 7 was keeping it from modifying my default search engine but it some how got around ASC. Now that I deleted all of its files it is now re-creating them.

At this point, I recommend reinstalling windows. If your antivirus can't stop it, then a reinstall is the best idea. It will wipe out the virus

I was already planning a reinstall but I am just bull headed and wanted to know if there was any way to take this nasty virus out for good.

Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

A reinstall is about as close to a nuclear carpetbombing to a virus that you're going to get while still having functional hardware. It will take this bug down for good as long as you scan your backups thoroughly before restoring any data from them.

I have tried orbit but it was detected 2 times and then the virus bassicaly ducked under it. The only thing that Is picking it up is malwarebites. I am talking with one guy who has given me a great idea. He suggests that It could be in my network. I agree with this because I have 2 names on my network that I don't know what they are.

I wasn't referring to a program. I meant re-install windows, it will nuke the old install and 'delete' the virus with extreme prejudice. Just like how people take care of a spider on their desk.

If some of your programs isn't working after running all of the scans, make sure the program is legit before downloading and reinstalling it again from a trusted source of their official website.

If you know the adware name, then you can find any remaining registry entry at your computer registry:

Go to start and type regedit on the search bar and click the program.
On Registry Editor click on edit, and then find, and on the find what textbox type the adware name and click find next.
Delete the registry it finds and repeat this process until it can't find anymore.

Go to start and click Computer or C:\ and on the top right corner type your adware name and click search and delete all the folders and files your sure isn't legit.

A clean reinstall is a much more guaranteed way to kill all traces of all the malwares you have though.

Thanks for this tips! I am planning on doing a reinstall of windows any way I was just wanting to postpone it. Is there any way that I can keep files from my computer and bring them to the new install without bringing over any viruses?
