i jus bought a phillips sound bar serial number htl1170b and i hooked it up and can not get it to work on my sanyo tv serial n

Your soundbar has 3 inputs, 2 are digital, one is analog, You will need to select the one you used. Check the TV audio menu to make sure there is no place to turn the audio output on. Sometimes you have to turn off the TV speakers to turn on the audio output.
