Solved! I just bought an Alien ware 13 R2 series laptop second hand, The laptop turns on fine but it won't progress past the setup scr

I turn the laptop on and it goes to the language and region options but when I hit next it tells me that it needs an update. I connect to the Wi-Fi and it gives me the just a moment screen, but after some time passed it reverts back to the language/regions elect screen.
I have the laptop plugged into the wall, I have it plugged into the modem, I don't know what's wrong.
I also have zero USB devices plugged in.

Sounds like you need to re-run the Windows setup on it again. Or contact the person you bought it for and ask them what the issue may be and have them fix it.
