I log in. and it won't even go to my desk top.. what should I do?

I tried to download a app. And when it did the next day I tried using my laptop and so I logged in as usual then after that my screen went dark and I can barely see the cursor... Please help

You could try booting into safe mode and un-installing the app etc.
