I need a cheap small laptop - Refurb/used + Ubuntu?

Hello, these forums look great!

I am searching for a small laptop/netbook to use at work, all I need to do are basic tasks - word processing, wifi etc.

I was thinking of getting a small used/refurb and maybe booting ubuntu to increase speed? Adding a stick or ram etc.

Has anybody got any ideas? my budget is really small for this case, no more than £150.
