I need to connect a DVD recorder to my flat screen.

I want to connect a DVD recorder to my Uverse system using HDMI....what is the best way?

what kind of output does the dvd recorder have?

I have not purchase done yet, I do have an older unit but it does not have HDMI which was why I want to upgrade....less cable and wiring.

I don't think there are DVD recorders accepting HDMI inputs, and I suppose that's on purpose (DMCA, anyone?). Here is (quite old) article on CNET explaining wjy.
