Connecting Samsung Soundbar to Vizio TV

For the audio of the TV to be fed into the soundbar via HDMI both the TV and soundbar have to have ARC (audio return channel) and it has to be turned on in the TV and soundbar. If you don't have it in both you will need to use an additional connection (usually optical audio) to feed TV sound to the soundbar.

Connecting Samsung Soundbar to Vizio TV

I returned my Samsung Soundbar. I was able to get every situation working and the soundbar sounded really good, but...the volume control and on/off are completely separate and I didn't want another remote on my coffee table. Any ideas for a better soundbar integration with a new Vizio M-series?
