I recently upgraded to Windows 10 (big mistake). When I used to plug my phone or camera into the laptop it would make a 'ding'

I have a samsung 6 and an Acer laptap. I can no longer find where the pictures that I want to transfer from phone/camera to laptop. No screen comes up with options. Windows 10 is making me INSANE. Can anyone help????
