if you're trying to use your laptop as a screen for your smartphone then it's most likely not doable
the vga port on your laptop is meant for output only not input

you can't use your laptop screen as a monitor because the vga is out only it can't turn your laptop screen into a monitor

i dont know much about display ports but i think the same goes for the display port you can't use it to use your laptop screen as a monitor

get an avermedia extremecap u3 and you get ps3 smartphone and everything else on your laptop
