Hey guys I already have a notebook with i5 3230M + no gpu, and I was looking to buy a notebook with i5 5200U + GeForce 940m (gpu)..... Then I realize that the i5 3230M that I already have is way better (more speed) than the i5 5200U (energy efficient) ... I was wondering if it is still a good buy or maybe I should buy a notebook with i7 5500U that has the same speed as the i5 3230M....

I want the notebook to play mmogames and moba mostly..

What do you think?

TBH an i5 5200U and a GeForce 940M is more than enough for mmo games but if you want better gaming performance you shld actually opt for a better graphics card as one of my friend actually has a GTX980 but uses an I3 but he can run games like GTA really smoothly.

1) Your main issue is the GPU.
So yeah, the 940M or better would be the minimum I'd recommend.

2) The i5-3230M is similar. It's not "way better". It's maybe 5% better, but it also depends on how the laptop manufacture implemented the profile for it. So let's just say nearly identical.

3) The i5-5200U has a much better GPU than the i5-3230M. Not really a great gaming GPU, but better than the older one.

4) i7-5500U?
Well, again it's more about the GPU, and the above i7 is still a dual-core with HT part that is pretty similar to the other two CPU's you mentioned. In fact, it's almost IDENTICAL to the i5-3230M:

vs

vs

Summary:
You need to rephrase your question and ask:

What's the best gaming laptop I can buy for "X" amount of dollars?

Thank you for your answer !
I was worried for the clock speed of the i5 5200U, because I have read that some mmorpg or strategy games are single thread dependant..... so I think I will want better clock speed, (that's why I looked for i7 5500U) but if you say to me that the i5 5200U is ok I will not worry.

I would like to ask this "What's the best gaming laptop I can buy for "X" amount of dollars?" , but I'm from Chile (My bad to not say it) and the prices here are very different from North America ( Also the dollar is so high now ), adn there's not alot of options.... so I'm looking in the national market and asking for advices !

That Acer is so good an cheap, but is not sold here...
The cheapest notebook with 940m that is selling here is the ASUS K555LB-XX160T (it has i5 5200U)
and it cost 714 dollars approx.... ( 700 CLP = 1 dollar )

Notebook with 960m ASUS GL552VW-DM464T 1257 dollars... (700 CLP = 1 dollar )

There are more cheapest options with 920m ... but I think 920m is so bad.

Sadly that notebook is not sold here....
Im buying Leonov Y4080 I think.... it has i7 5500U and R9 M275( that looks like is a bit better than 940m )
What do you think about R9 M275 ?

That's not a bad video card, it it's in your budget will be OK for games (newer ones that is, older ones will run pretty good) at lower settings with at least playable frame rates. It's in the lower range of desktop graphics, about the speed of the Radeon R7 250 (not the X).
