i5-7300 vs i7-7700 both have gtx 1060 - Please help me choose my laptop

I have option to buy either laptop number 1 with gtx 1060 and i5-7300 or laptop number 2 with gtx 1060 and i7-7700. Ofcourse the number 2 laptop is more expensive and I would like to know if its really worth it? How much is one better than the other? Thanks for help.

Worth is something only YOU can determine.

If this is for gaming, performance will largely be determined by the graphics chip.
In a laptop, I believe the correct processors you are comparing is the i5-7300HQ and I7-7700HQ.

i5-7300HQ is a 4 thread processor with a passmark rating of 6788 and a single thread rating of 1871.
I7-7700HQ has 8 threads with a passmark rating of 8988 and a single thread rating of 2029.

Either is good for gaming.

Most games are fine with 4 threads, If you are active in multiplayer games, then more threads of the I7 are better,

Mostly, I think you will not notice much difference.

One key to laptop performance is the use of a ssd instead of a hard drive.
Laptop hard drives are optimized for battery savings not performance.

For gaming performance, plan on being plugged in.

Likely, the laptop screen characteristics is what you will notice most. Pay extra for a great screen before extra for a faster processor.

Would you say that gtx 1060 is gonna last atleast 3 years futureproof where I can play upcoming new games? And also, how do I determine a good screen as you mention?
