I cant decide between these two computers:

one is a Toshiba Satellite L55T-A, it has the newer i7-4700 Processor, but only 8 GB of RAM. It also doesn't have a backlit keyboard, something i could live without, but it would be nice. It has Mobile Intel HD Graphics with 32MB-1632MB. integrated Graphics.

the other one is a Toshiba Satellite S55T series, it has an older i7 3630 processor, but 12GB of RAM. This one does have a backlit keyboard. This has Mobile Intel® HM76 Express Chipset Mobile Intel® HD graphics with shared graphics.

Which one of these two would be better? The first one is a little cheaper, but i heard that the S series laptops are faster than the L series. Thanks!

It depends on what you are doing. If you can live without the lit keyboard and have no pressing need for a ton of ram i would go with the 4700, because it is newer tech and not really upgradable like ram. Assuming your laptop supports it, ram upgrading isnt usually very difficult (you could probably fit 16 gb ram in there if your laptop allows it). CPU generally can't be updated so easily. Also, the integrated graphics on 4xxx series cpu are very pretty good, it won't beat out a dedicated card but it can still get you pretty far

You should also check out the Lenovo y510p. They're back on sale - again :) I'm looking at 59369999 for $800:
4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ / 8.0GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce GT750M GDDR5 2GB
15.6" HD LED Glossy Wedge 1366x768
Backlit keyboard

or step up to the 1920x1080 model for $950.

I'm not much of a gamer myself so I'm thinking I'm just gonna stay with the cheaper one :)
