I got asked to look at this grubby looking old IBM ThinkPad R50e. I think it's that model because the laptop says IBM ThinkPad and the screen says R50e. Is that correct?
They were wondering why it was so slow. Turns out it has 256mb of RAM running windows xp. I uncliped the back and it seems there is no ram installed at all...
Now what kind of RAM do you think this takes, will any IBM ThinkPad R50e Ram do? Should I focus on a specific size like maybe 256mb or could I shoot for 1gb? That is what is apparently installed already, even though I cant see any under the clip on the back unless that is only for upgrade.
The processor on this machine is 1.5ghz...
