Solved! Ideapad 510 15ISK Black screen on startup

In December I bought an Ideapad 510 from Amazon. It worked for a few weeks, but now I get a blank screen when I boot up. I have tried looking up info online but have not found anything useful. I tried to open the BIOS (pressing Fn+F2, F9 & F12). I also removed the RAM and turned it on, but still a blank screen. I also plugged in an external monitor, but it looked the same as the laptop screen. I have seen some suggestions to unplug the battery, but that is very involved (there are 8 other things which must be removed before getting to the battery). I can do it, but want to check on other options first.

It is still under warranty, but I am currently overseas and will not return until April.
Any thoughts?

If it is not showing anything on both the laptop attached display and the external monitor, then it is probably the graphics card/GPU that is done for.

If you just got it, and is under warranty, contact the manufacturer.
