I have been researching about Lenovo ideapad 710s and 710s plus. The plus model seem to sport a usb type c along with usb 3.0 and usb 2.0 ports, while the 710s model has 2 usb 3.0 ports. the usb c port has "displayport" written on the website of lenovo. So does this port only support displays or it can get me functionality of other usb c tasks? Which model do you think is the one to go?

Solution
The type c port on the 710s plus is only a USB 3.1 gen 1 (USB 3.0) port which can also output a Displayport signal. You can use it as a usb port or a display port.

It does not have the other features such as power delivery 2.0 or thunderbolt 3.
