Solved! IFL90 monitor problems

I have a Compal IFL90 laptop. When I turn the computer on, the monitor does not display anything. There is some light coming from it, so I can tell that it is on, but it will not actually show anything. The computer works fine with an external display. Any idea what the problem is?

It could be that the inverter is shot on it. This is what projects the image onto the screen. Either that or it could be that a wire fell off or is fried. I don't think it would be the on board graphics, as connecting an external screen to it wouldn't work.
