Images gone from card. I checked the images when finished shooting them and they

I use a Nikon D70 with a San disc card. This is now a second time my images just disappear. While shooting everytrhing is fine but whwn I put it in my card reader there is NO FILE! whwn I put itt back in my camera there is still no images! What must I do? How do I recover the images?

If the card really is blank I'd reformat it using the camera's own setup facilities.
