how can download the recovery disk with out paying the $30.00? i have looked in the toshiba website and the are trying to charge me and i donot have that type of cash

Well forgive me for saying so but you could have made your own set of recovery discs when your laptop was working okay, in fact that's one of the first things you should have done when it was new. There's a Toshiba utility in Windows for doing it - - too late now if Windows won't start.

You can get drivers free from Toshiba's website, but not the recovery discs, and they won't be available elsewhere (not free anyway).

the drivers are on the vendor laptop web site under the laptop model. for the disk look on ebay for it.

Not trying to be rude, but Toshiba's website is not very good. Pending what version of Windows you have, it could be a bunch of drivers, or none at all. And yes, i did read the page.
