In need of a solution

Having some problems with my client's laptop.Its detailed specification are XPS M1530
Brand😀ELL
Model:m1530
CPU:Core 2 Duo
Memory:2GB
Network Adapter: Bluetooth/WiFi
OS:Win 8 32 Bit
It previously had an Operating System on it ( Win 8), The system had some minor errors and for that reason i decide to re install a copy of windows 8.Some few software installation later and after installing A driver's pack solution ,the mouse pad stopped responding again.I Have tried other sites to look for any solution but till now there still isn't any
If any one would be willing to help me with a step by step guide to solving it, i would be much appreciating

Touchpad cable may have come loose it's usually located under the keyboard shouldn't take too much effort to check depending on the laptop.

This happened to me once, make sure that the driver software (usually Synaptics) is the same type that came with the computer
