Regular minutes (peak or off peak, depending on time/day) are charged.

change your voicemail # from *86 to your mobile # and it should use the MTM/ IN
network calling.

That used to be the case, but doesn't work that way since about April of
this year...at least in my billing area. If I call voicemail by dialing my
mobil number, it might initially show up in the In Network bucket, but will
be moved to either peak or off peak for final billing. This supposedly was
done to bring consistency to all the VZW billing areas, according to
messages in my March bill.

I just tried calling my own mobil number and the minutes go directly to
peak.

Suppose I have a family share, and I use the other phone to call my
phone and let it go to VM. Instead of leaving a message, I switch to
message-reading mode. Is that IN-Network?

Also, I have found that, at least in the SF Bay Area, calling the VM
backdoor (which still works here), is IN-Network.

Can you tell me how to get in this VM backdoor?

Note that this VM backdoor number applies only to the SF Bay Area.

1) Call 408-483-6300
2) Enter your 10-digit phone number
3) Press # to get to message-fetch mode
4) Enter your VM password
