That's not a sleep mode, that's either a dead screen or dead harddisk. Try to connect an external monitor. If even that doesn't show a picture, it's most likely the disk.

no dude it is sleep mode I have the same problem and all I did to get it working again was to hold the power button down for 30 seconds and it turned on it is none of them because I am using the laptop now and it is a problem with the motherboard or software installed on the computer
how do I get the toshiba laptop out of sleep mode? It will power up, but nothing comes up on my screen.
well there really isn't a way but turn off sleep mode or turn off the computer hold the power button for 30 seconds and it should turn on trust me I have the same problem but I am using the laptop right now just don't let it go into sleep mode ok
