Input on Value of current Tivo Series 2 unit

Hello All,
Within the month I will be moving to Perth, Australia. I finally got a
job that I've been after for over two years. I'm stoked!
I have a Tivo Series 2, Model TCD140060. Active Lifetime Subscription.
It has a Linksys USB WiFi adapter running. I had it upgraded it so that the
primary drive is a 120GB 7200RPM and the secondary is a 160GB 7200 RPM. It
also has a fully transferable Best Buy Service Plan (which covers it if the
unit dies etc within 4 years?). I also have the original Box and paperwork.
Cosmetically and electronically the Tivo and factory remote are great. When
I added the 2nd HD I had a machine shop drill a 6x6 hole grid over the HD's
to allow for additional airflow. It looks good and works great!

Anyway, I'm considering eBay-ing it before I move, and was wondering what I
should be asking for it.

Check out www.oztivo.com before you go. Then buy a series1 tivo and take it
with you along with the two large drives. Sell the Liftetime S2 with a
smaller drive on Ebay. You'll never recoupe the money for the drives sold
with the unit. You'd probably be looking at about $350-$450 on Ebay.

Make sure you list it under Sporting Goods/Boating/Anchors.

Poor Sean. Now he has to switch cable companies to keep bashing Tivo.
It's either that, or he'd have to find a life . . . . . . Ya almost feel
sorry for the guy.

The best thing to do is look at existing auctions and see what other
units are selling for. Then adjust the price accordingly for the
capacity of your box, etc. I'd say, off the cuff, you should get at
least $400, minimum, just for the lifetime with hardware in good
condition. And probably more with the large drives.
