My HD crashed last night. And unfortunately the laptop is just out of warranty. Now I have to buy an internal HDD for my laptop.

Q1 ) What will be the specifications of the HDD that I buy? (RPM etc)
Q2 ) Can I use a 1TB HD with the following configuration (previously it was 500gb) - Intel i5, 4GB Ram

Since I already have the product key, I am downloading the Win 7 Home premium file from microsoft site.

Q3 ) Do I need to install any drivers after finishing windows installation? Or nothing else is needed?

Please help me I am sure it won't be difficult to answer.

ANS 1) 2.5″ is the size, 5400RPM is normal RPM, Performance drives can go up to 7200 RPM and speed up that slow laptop–but they also add more heat. If you need the performance, go for it.

ANS 2) YES it will work if it matches ure laptops specifications as above

ANS 3) YES all drivers need to be reinstalled which can be taken from the manufacturer website.
